Our in-person Functional Skills English exam is designed to offer a calmer, more supportive alternative to traditional exam venues.
 
Exams take place on-site in our static caravan setting (Near Sleaford, Lincs, postcode NG34 8RG), which has been created to feel more like a home away from home than a corporate office or large exam hall. This helps create a gentler, less overwhelming experience for learners who may find standard exam environments difficult.
 
Exams are held in very small groups or, where needed, in one-to-one rooms, and reasonable adjustments are available to support individual needs.
 
Learners can come on-site and complete all components of their English exam in one day, making the process simpler and more manageable for families.
 
Everyone who books will also be invited to an free optional pre-exam visit approximately 2 weeks before the exam. This gives learners the opportunity to see the space in advance, sit in the room where they will take their exam, and meet the staff who will be supporting them on the day. For many young people, this helps reduce anxiety, remove some of the unknowns, and make the experience feel safer and more predictable.
 
For learners (and their adults) attending for the full day, a complimentary light lunch will be provided.
Drinks will be available throughout the day for all (and additional refreshments available to purchase)
There is also a quiet waiting room for parents or carers who wish to stay on-site.
 
We also offer free on-site parking. This provision is intentionally kept small-scale to maintain a calm and therapeutic environment.
